Jax Stroller StrengthTM offers bootcamp-style classes that incorporate elements of strength-training, cardio and flexibility. Each class is unique utilizing circuits,high intensity interval training and different variations of running. In addition to 5 lb or 10 lb dumbbells that are recommended for class, Jax Stroller Strength uses a variety of equipment from training ropes and BOSU balls to TRX and kettlebells. It is our goal to increase cardiovascular endurance, core strength, flexibility and to keep your body guessing.
Bootcamp & Yoga
Once a month, Jax Stroller Strength offers a Beach Bootcamp and Yoga class at Oceanfront Park in Jacksonville Beach. The first 45 minutes is a calorie burning burst of cardio/strength training using the beach, stairs and grassy park. Then it’s time to unwind with a rejuvenating yoga session (on the beach if tides permit) led by a certified yoga instructor in the community. Sweat, strengthen and stretch all as the sun rises, there’s no better way to kickoff the weekend.
Break of Dawn
This a kid-free calorie-blasting class for early risers. Offered during challenges, we meet at 5:30 AM at Jarboe Park. Set your alarm and by the time you actually wake up, you’ve gotten a total body workout! This is the perfect option for those busy days when you can’t make it to a regular JSS class.
Jax Stroller Strength offers two fitness challenges a year. The spring challenge runs for six weeks from March thru April. The fall challenge is a four week “mini” challenge from October to November. Both challenges focus on goal setting, learning and expanding clean eating skills, team building and feature special events like a prediction run, progressive dinner, clinics by Jacksonville Running Company, moms night out and play dates. Fitness levels are tested at the beginning and the end to chart growth. Challenges are the highlight of the Jax Stroller Strength year as being on a team truly builds strong connections within the group.
This specially designed pre- and post-natal class teaches moms, whether they are working out for two or just gave birth, how to continue exercising in a safe and effective manner. This hour long class covers hot topics like safe abdominal exercises, running while pregnant, breast feeding and exercises as well as demonstrations of proper modifications for popular Stroller Strength exercises and stretching.
